Online MBA Degree: Program Curriculum


The academic calendar for Montclair’s online MBA degree program features three semesters (Fall, Spring and Summer), and each semester is divided into two eight-week terms. MBA students are expected to complete 3 credits (one or two classes) per term and will earn their degree within two years. New students may begin their studies at the start of any semester or half-term, which allows a choice of six start dates throughout the year.

All students enrolled in the General MBA program must complete 36 credit hours of graduate-level coursework, including 30 credits of required core courses and 6 credits of electives. The 18 core online MBA Courses are worth 1.5 to 3 credits each, while the number of elective courses will vary depending on which classes are selected. Most electives are worth 1.5 or 3 credits each; Independent Study and Selected Topics options may range from 1 to 3 credits.

All courses are delivered via Canvas, a web-based learning management system, which hosts learning materials and activities, tests/assessments, and communication tools to engage and collaborate with faculty and classmates. Self-paced classes allow students to complete weekly lessons and assignments on their own schedule. And though all courses are internet-based, there is no mention of “online” on the MBA diploma or transcripts.
